This is why we're fat.

We can make all sorts of rationalizations for it.  It's a cold climate, we need the extra calories/insulation to keep us warm, we're doing very physical jobs, etc. 

But it's all a lie: we simply like sugar, a lot, and our chefs are happy to provide it to us in enormus quantities.
